How do I unlock my Telstra Pre-Paid mobile for use on other phone networks?

Answer:

Telstra Pre-Paid mobiles are network locked and programmed to operate only on Telstra's network.  To use your mobile on other networks, you may need to pay an unlocking fee - this differs depending on your mobile phone model.

To unlock your mobile, or check the unlocking fee, follow the steps below:

Step 1 of 3: Press * # 0 6 # on your mobile, and write down the code that's shown. This is your phone's IMEI number.
Step 2 of 3: Have your credit card handy, then from another phone, call 1300 720 179.
Step 3 of 3: Follow the prompts. You'll be asked to enter your phone's IMEI code and will then be advised of the unlock fee.

If you don't have a credit card, please visit your nearest Telstra Shop  to unlock your mobile.
